Holiday Tip: Seed the Pomegranate II December 11, 2014

So I saw a video on a friend’s Facebook feed about seeding a pomegranate in 10 seconds. That, of course, is impossible. A clue: The videos (and there are several easily found on an Internet search) showing you how to do this 10-second trick are several minutes long. This method involves scoring the pomegranate, halving it, loosening the membrane a bit, then beating the outside with a spoon. The seeds fall right out. I just tried it, and basically it worked, although some of the seeds were a bit stubborn. Afterward, I still covered them in water so that some of the rogue membrane floated to the top.
