I might go to London in October. I should go to London in October.
When I realized that this might happen, I had a mini panic attack about when my unused passport might expire. Not til the end of next year, thank the gods.
But now I’m hyperaware of how long it’s been since I was out of the country. Remember when I last publicly freaked out about it? No? You mean it’s not all about me?
I still haven’t headed to Montreal. Sheesh.
All evidence points to my not having left these United States since summer 2002.
It’s not that I haven’t traveled. But all that business/pleasure trekking to Portland, Maine, has calmed wanderlust a tiny bit.
And I have traveled: big trips to Oregon, California, Colorado, Arizona, Utah. Long ago, my annual Adirondack trips. New York City sometimes. Trips to family in Pennsylvania and Maryland. A wedding in North Carolina. Indiana, even!
But that cluster of Italy/Scotland/Baja/Belize/Paris/Nova Scotia? Apparently that was all so 1996–2002.
I should go to London. Will any of you be there then?
*My five hundredth post here, apparently. That only took seven years. I’m no Vesper Sparrow, for cryin’ out loud.

I don’t often say OMG, but … OMG I wish I could be in London in October. We could go somewhere posh for afternoon tea and champagne, stroll through the National Gallery, and … well … do all those other fabulous things you can do in London. Deloney could come and visit (and the rest of the gang) we’d have a raucous evening in a pub.
Sigh. Travel is pretty much off our radar at the moment. It’s killing me.
PS. Congrats on 500 posts. So pleased that I’ve had the pleasure of reading your thoughts 500 times (well, so many more than that too), and that you’re still going! I’m at 491. We can’t all be Vesper Sparrow.
Rats! (I don’t often—well I never—say rats!, but there it is), I had the highest hopes of maybe you showing up in London in October! Of course, I am still hoping *I* will show up in London in October. I noted on other post that in reviewing photos, looks like I was in Paris at least May 18–21 in 2002—perhaps we passed one another on the street! Thanks for the congrats, and be sure to flag your 500th, my fellow nonVesperSparrow.
You definitely should go. I should go too, but, alas, $$$$ is an issue (or should I say, $ is an issue).
500 posts? That’s amazing! You definitely should book a trip to Italy/Scotland/Baja/Belize/Paris/Nova Scotia (? not sure about that last one 🙂 ) to celebrate.
I wish I could be in London in October too! I often wish I could be in London, but with you there it would be extra amazing.
